Our Story
Our Story
Agate Home Services was founded right here in Billings, Montana, with a simple idea: homeowners deserve a local company they can trust to give them honest answers, quality work, and fair pricing.
Agate is a family-owned and woman-owned business built by Crystal and Nathan Phillis. Nathan brings years of hands-on experience in HVAC and the trades, while Crystal leads the business side of Agate — from customer experience and operations to marketing and building relationships within the community.
As a wife, mom of two, and longtime member of our local community, Crystal wanted Agate to be more than another service company. The goal was to build a business our family could be proud of and one our customers would feel comfortable calling when they need help in their homes.
Today, we provide HVAC installation and repair, small handyman services, and home improvements, with aging-in-place services continuing to grow as part of our mission. Whether it's a furnace that quits in the middle of winter, an air conditioner that can't keep up, or one of those smaller projects around the house that just needs to get done, we're here to help.
We believe in doing things the right way — no unnecessary upselling, no inflated quotes, and no disappearing after the job is finished. We provide straightforward recommendations, stand behind our work, and treat our customers' homes the way we would want someone to treat our own.
